my ex bf, newly reinstated jw, was texting me that his 75 year old parents (uber dubs) are giving him grief about taking on some debt to buy a new truck to invest in his new job.
they thought he should just resume his old window cleaning biz.
so i told him just to tell them not to worry about the debt since it will be wiped clean in the new system, which is right around the corner.. whoops -- i thought i was being clever but apparently my comment offended him.
Don't try to navigate around anything. If a JW is offended by their own doctrine, they have to deal with it, not you.
If anything, they should be made to confront everything they don't like about their church and it's doctrines. This includes anything they find embarrasing, unchristion, non-humanitarian, or hard to swallow.
aargh just shoot me, my wife just came home from field service bi&*&ing about her friends inactive/faded husband.
the thing is he and his wife use the excuse that he is sick from irratable bowel syndrome.
however he works 50+ hours a week.
Say and do things under the guise of being a SuperDub that let your wife see you as hypocritical/lying to protect the bOrg & your faith in it/less than sane, but your insanity supported by the litterature, talks, arsemblys, etc.. Go in FS with her and confront a HH with your most obnoxious doctrine, like Jehovah will kill you and your babies if you don't join our church, and present them with a magazine/book that backs up the madness. (You should set up a Xtian or athiest HH first.)
Once she comes out as apostate, you're home free.

Unfortunately for them, this lent to my crtical attitue and skepticism about the doctrine I was taught.

Congratulations for not getting baptised. It gives you an advantage that you can exploit. I have that advantage too, so I have a bit of experience in that department.
You need to build on the critical thinking skills you learned. Being raised in a cult, we were taught how to 'compartmentalise' = using our critical thinking skills when the logic supplied by the cult supported the cult's teachings, but turning them off when confronted with reality/facts/common sense, etc., that was contradictory.
My advice is to study critical thinking skills. Get yourself the skills to recognise when you are being presented with faulty logic, poor evidence etc..
Believe me, you won't be troubled by the Watchtower's demons once you understand that they are just the figments of the Watchtower's fertile, and insane, imaginations.

i think i created a monster, last year i spent time helping someone do something they should have done for themself.
now, after each meeting the sister is hitting me up for help with something she can afford to pay a professional.
i am having to duck, hide and run as fast as possible when i see the sister rubber-necking it to find me.
Tell her what you just told us, then block her phone # or use caller ID so that you don't answer her calls.
If she doesn't like it, tell her to grow up and deal with it herself or ask her Elders for financial advice 'cos she ain't getting any more from you.
What are the Elders likely to do? Complain about it? DF you for not helping her?............ I don't think so!

i enjoy my life so much after getting my aa degree, then my ba degree, and now i will soon get my ma degree.
It sounds, to me, like you want to use your degree to run interference for the bOrg.
